Position Overview

Fiducial is looking for a part-time Accountant for their Columbia MD Office.  This position reports directly to the Controller. The Accountant is responsible for assisting with the closing of the books and preparation of financial statements, including monthly/quarterly account analysis and reconciliation, journal entries and work papers. Must be able to work 20 hours/week, M-F.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the integrity of general ledgers for multi-sites and companies.
  • Coordinate the completion of the balance sheet account analysis.
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements in a timely manner.
  • Lead the monthly close process for accounting department.
  • Assist with acquisition installment calculations and revenue certificates.
  • Ensure proper revenue reconcilliation for all sites.
  • Review cost centers and chart of account structures. Makes recommendations for cost center and chart of account that will assist in properly classifying expenses
  • Provide accounting expertise to assist other areas in understanding financial information.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Perform all tasks associated with the general ledger, enter monthly journal entries, execute monthly closing entries, execute month end procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Controller.

Desired Skills/ Experience/Attributes

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior work experience with accounting for multiple entities.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures on manual and automated systems.
  • Experience working with Epicor or similar enterprise software is a plus.
  • Individual will possess a business accumen with demonstrated customer service skills working within a team environment.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Accounting or Finance), from an accredited 4 year College or University preferred.
