Position Overview

Fiducial is looking for a Senior Accountant/Business Advisor for their Timonium, MD office.  This position reports directly to the Regional Manager.

The Business Advisor works in a team environment supervising all aspects of business counseling, accounting and tax preparation for a portfolio of clients.  Some tax preparation and special projects work required. The person in this role serves as the “right hand” to the Regional Manager in supporting client management and business development initiatives.

As a multi-faceted position, this opportunity includes monitoring business production pertaining to reviewing accounting reports and answering all technical processing and accounting questions for clients in addition to hiring, training and supervising Business Associates.  The Business Advisor is responsible for handling special projects as assigned to include responsibilities for managing an office or sections of an office.  This dynamic position is well suited for tax professionals with strong expertise in preparing personal and business tax returns and developing consulting/business relationships within their community.  

Desired Skills/ Experience/Attributes

  • 7+  years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years tax preparation experience (corporate, individual, partnership)
  • 3+ years proven experience growing and managing a team
  • Proven track record of solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Proven ability to handle a high-volume workload at a high level of efficiency including monitoring production and payroll processing; answering technical processing and accounting questions; and client reporting.
  • 3+ years proven experience in writing and maintaining complex reporting
  • Proven business development experience and past track record of generating new revenue
  • High proficiency with accounting and office software applications

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field preferred
  • Active PTIN required
  • Active professional license/certification  - CPA required
